SIA Approved Training SIA Approved Training (NOCN qualification ) Due to recent changes in the law all contracted Door supervisore and Security guards have to be licenced by the Security Industry Authority ( SIA ) to work. These restrictions have been brought into place in order to raise standards of training and professionalism across the security industry and to reassure the public by preventing unsuitable people from working in these positions. To obtain a licence applicants have to successfully complete a training course followed by an examthe SIA will decide on their suitability after requesting a Criminal Records Bureau check.Areas covered by part one of the door supervisors course include: Appropriate behaviour, Civil and Criminal Law, Searching and arrest procedures, Drugs awareness, Recording incidents, Licensing law, Equal oppertunities, Health and safety and emergency procedures.
